How to make a hacksaw machine

Sometimes there is a need to urgently cut off a piece of metal, and under your hands only a canvas. It is very inconvenient to work without a machine, the canvas not only cuts the hand, but it will certainly break, unless, of course, this is a product of Chinese scammers. Their metal is bent by an arc, does not break, but also does not saw. Real alloyed tool steel undergoes additional heat treatment and does not bend, it is not designed for such conditions. There is a way out - you can make an elementary machine yourself.

What you need to have

For the manufacture of the machine you will need a piece of plastic pipe, two corners and measuring tools. The diameter of the pipe is at least 3/4 inch, the thinner bends. The length must exceed the dimensions of the canvas by at least 20 cm.

Manufacturing technology

Cut two pieces of 10 cm from the pipe, the segments should be the same.

In order to maintain an approximate angle, draw marks around the entire circumference. Anyone who has experience will make an almost perfect strip. A plastic pipe can be cut with one blade, you just need to constantly keep it in an upright position and follow the marks.

On short tubes, cuts of about 1.5 cm in length must be cut; they are located in diameter and on the line of symmetry. There is no need to accurately measure, do everything by eye.

Clamp the tubes in a vice, align the marks and cut the slots. There is no vice - you can do without them, but you will have to make a little more effort.

Put the corners on the ends of the long tube, insert the short ones on the other end.

Lay the structure on a flat plane and mark the location of the holes. Carefully check the dimensions again, attach the canvas, its technological fixation places should be located opposite the holes.

Drill a diameter of about 1 mm in one wall of each short section of the hole. Insert the hacksaw blade into the slots and fasten it with small studs. The tool is ready to use, you can cut metal.

If the squares in the tube do not sit well, then they must be glued, today there are many very high-quality compounds. One more tip. The length of the studs should be such that the sharp end abuts against the opposite wall of the tube, hammer them until they are firmly fixed. You can not hammer, but heat them and insert hot. The metal will make holes in the plastic and firmly fix, the blade will not pop out.
