Materials and tools:

How to use solder sleeves

From the connected stranded cores the insulation is removed using a stripper or knife. It is enough to bare 10 mm. A soldering sleeve is threaded onto one of the wires, after which the cores on both wires must be fluffed and joined.

Next, the sleeve moves to the place of splicing, so that the solder ring is in the center of the bare veins. The tube is placed under the air stream of the hair dryer, turned on at minimum power. Under the influence of heat, it contracts. You need to sit in a row from the edge, and not from the center.

Together with the tube, hot-melt adhesive rings warm up. They adhere, so they completely prevent the shift or penetration of air and moisture to the compound. The hair dryer must be held for the longest time on the central ring of solder. He from the hot air first softens and squeezes the sleeve, and then melts and spreads between the wire veins. As a result, soldering will occur not only from above, but also inside the suspended wires.

The use of such tubes allows you to join the veins faster, while using only a hairdryer. This method is also suitable for connecting stranded wires, so it can be used not only in home or car wiring, but also in industrial facilities.

The resulting compound cannot be broken by hand. The wires are more likely to be torn in another place than on soldering. You can verify the reliability of the splice by cutting the test solder. Inside it is seen that the solder is located between each wire of the core. This eliminates the heating of the joint under load.
